Trend Edition
Flickr has finally opened up for the one thing that, in my opinion, was holding it back - video.
This is great news, and certainly something I am going to use. But, it is still not ready for "full use".
But, great news nevertheless and it works quite well too - and it is much better in quality than YouTube.
And, don't miss this funny video:

actually - I'm of the opposite view - I don't think video is what Flickr needs - the danger is that it becomes youtube and the inherits all the idiot comments and users and commercial viral marketing companies that youtube has. As it stands, Flickr is a relatively pure, simple and effective photography site, loved by and made for photographers with an intelligent and thriving user community..
just my tuppence..

Hey! I get to be the first to comment :)
To be honest, The idea of having FV only available for Pro users annoyed me first ( I am not a pro user), but after a short while, I thought exactly as you mentioned, even better, with that move, there would be very slight chance to have abusive videos that we keep seeing popping up in Youtube these days in Flickr Video.
Sure hope that Flickr sticks to this decision so we can have at least a clean space for normal people to be able to share their videos.
