We need to have a discussion about BuzzFeed Tasty because, from a media perspective, it's one of the best examples that we have of what really works on Facebook, and how you can take that to another level. But at the same time, it's also a perfect example of why pretty much everything else performs so poorly.
On top of this, BuzzFeed Tasty illustrates something I have been talking about for years, being that Facebook is actually only a very narrow niche form of media.
So let's take a look at this:
If you don't know what BuzzFeed Tasty is, let me just very quickly summarize it. Tasty is a channel just about food, specifically the quick and simple meals that everyone of us make on a normal week day.
In terms of content, it's very similar to Jamie Oliver's extremely successful book/show/app called "15 minute meals - Delicious, nutritious, super-fast food"
In other words, BuzzFeed Tasty isn't a new concept, but it's built upon a very long history of highly successful food content. You might say it's a recipe for success.
